Yannis grew up in a family where music was always in the air; a life’s soundtrack one could call it.
His music journey started with turntables and vinyls at teenage parties, passed through dj controllers and countless cds, and reached its peak in today’s advanced technology, always sourcing from top record stores and audio equipment suppliers.
This exciting journey was marked by collaborations with famous clubs in Athens and the Cycladic Islands—Rock n Roll, Balthazar, Noel, Ruins, Sablo, Zonar’s, Gaspar, Argo Bar Sifnos, Solymar Mykonos, Molliz, Local, Alekos Bar—special guest appearances, select events in Greece and Cyprus, and strong performances in leading hotels and estates—St George Lycabettus, Grande Bretagne, Athens Hilton, Costa Navarino, Royal Myconian, Elies Sifnos, Polo Club, and Evdomos Athens.

Associated with the awesome party scene of the mid-1980s, Yannis Kartelias became known for catching the pulse of the times, feeling the special vibe of any group, and getting a crowd off their feet through a mystical communion.
Yannis studied sound engineering and radio producing. In 1999, he founded SONIC, a state-of-the-art equipment provider in partnership with leading international firms. SONIC offers complete audiovisual support for parties, receptions, business presentations, conferences, and store openings, as well as any event in need of expert music, sound, lighting, and special effects.
